A Sultry Evening of Bourbon and Burlesque
NEW ORLEANS – Bourbon House joins together with the Contemporary Arts Center for an evening of dynamic Burlesque shows, delicious bourbon cocktails featuring premium bourbon labels, and Creole cuisine with proceeds benefiting the CAC. Bourbon & Burlesque will be held Saturday, June 21, 2008 from 8 to 11pm at the Contemporary Arts Center located at 900 Camp Street. The event is open to the public with advance tickets for $50 and tickets will be available at the door for $60 per person.
A number of Burlesque routines will be featured including members of five of New Orleans’ Burlesque troops such as Fleur de Tease, the Storyville Starlettes, Bustout Burlesque, and the Billion Dollar Baby Dolls as well as world-renowned burlesque aerial artist, Angela Eve. Additionally, a variety of bourbons will be available for tasting straight up or mixed in both traditional and unique cocktails created by Bourbon House mixologists. Those drinks include:
So Co Saz (Southern Comfort and Sazarac with a dash of peychaud bitters and a lime twist)
A jazzed up version of a classic tune
Speak Easy (Wild Turkey American Honey with Ruston Peaches and a Splash of Ginger)
A tribute to Billy Holiday, an authentic American honey
Dee Milo Mint Julep (Woodford Reserve with mint infused simple syrup and rose water)
Dee Milo, the “venus of dance” was a pioneer of burlesque
Cherry BOMBshell (Eagle Rare with cherries and chocolate shavings)
For those who prefer brunettes, but still like a bombshell
An exclusive bourbon-inspired menu created by Executive Chef Darin Nesbit & Sous Chef Gabe Beard will also be featured including:
Crab Dumplings • Crawfish and andouille spring rolls • Classic Crudite • Truffled Mushrooms Tuscan Red Bean Salad with Andouille Vinaigrette • Cochon de lait and herbed goat cheese between three sheets of pasta with Wild Turkey cane sugar demi-glace • Shrimp with pink peppercorns and Eagle Rare bourbon over a savory vanilla cala • Fleur de lis Chocolates • Russell’s Reserve Rye Palmiers
